Ryan,

I don't have any of these personally but a couple guys on the team picked them up last year and our shop sponsor has sold a couple sets. No complaints so far but probably not a ton of miles yet either.

The alloy wheelsets appear to be decent Asian hubsets (Joytech or similar) with various versions of the ubiquitous Kinlin rims (American Classic, IRD, etc). Can't beat the CX-ray spokes. The Kinlins are a narrow rim compared to Velocity, DT1.1, Mavics and perhaps a bit thinner in the brake track but overall they hold up OK and build a pretty light wheel. AmClassic made these popular with the original Sprint 350 wheelset which in 28/32 came in around 1500g.

I checked out the Rev wheelsets in the shop when they came in. They looked well built and a decent value. I think the company owners race for, or raced with, the Human Zoom team in PA. If you know some of those guys might get additional comments there.

I'd put these on par with any number of similar wheelsets in the $500 range (Easton, Velocity, AmClassic, etc), Not as nice as some but certainly very good wheels and an opportunity to give some local guys a bit of business too.

FWIW, the 22L 1290g wheelset is fairly low spoke count. For all around use and training I'd be inclined to go with the 22 and take the 100g hit from the extra spokes. For racing I would go from the 22mm rim to the 30mm rim. It's not a big weight penalty and you'll get a stiffer wheel which might be helpful in crits and circuits. Finally, I'm sure the hubs take standard bearings but it's worth asking for that spec and also if replacement freehubs are available as that is the typical weak spot in the lower cost asian hubs.

While shopping, perhaps ask what they would charge for the wheels built on Ultegra hubs. Probably not much more and you'd get a better hub with easier availability of spare parts.

Hope some of that was helpful.

Mark
