The Need for Speed, and All Things Aerodynamic This Thread is to be used to discuss anything related to attainment of speed, principally the implementation of technology, body positioning, or anything else that lets one slice through the air more quickly. While it might have a time trial-specific feel to it, much of what is discussed can benefit road and other disciplines as well.

Default Re: "Retweet" Taylor Phinney at LSWT

Ahh ok - hard to know if the clamp diameter is any wider on that than on $40 Profile T2 base bars.

Actually looking at phinney, his elbows are pretty wide and the aerobars themselves not so much.

I maybe made the mistake of getting these slick 1 piece carbon aerobars,

Where the elbow is very far in, and not adjustable, over cheapo T2+ bars that are very adjustable, but have a high stack height, and don't allow you to get the elbows very far in if you wanted them, which I realize now I probably don't! I noticed, my CSX bars, when placed as WIDE as they will go on the T2 base bar, are closer than the T2+ aero bars as tight as they go, right up next to the stem. I liked the CSX because they are about a lot lower in stack height than most other aero bars. They would be good for my TT bike I guess.
